Greetings!  You have entered the unofficial Southbridge Community Home Page. Southbridge is a new community bordering the historic town of Dumfries, Virginia's oldest incorporated town) which is part of Prince William County, VA.   It is near the Marine Corps Base, Quantico and  Fort Belvoir.  More information on activities at the Marine Corps Base, Quantico, can be found at:  Marine Corps Community Services Quantico

Southbridge is located in an unincorporated part of Prince William County, bordering the Town of Dumfries.  The community is policed by the Prince William County Police Department, and taxes are paid to the County.  Within Prince William County (PWC), Southbridge falls under the Dumfries District of Supervisor Maureen Caddigan.

Southbridge is a Legend Properties community in Prince William County, Virginia, just 25 miles south of Washington, D.C.  It is in the process of being sold to KSI Services, Inc. Legend Properties maintains a web site at: http://www.southbridgeva.com.   It is a mixed-used, master-planned community, Southbridge is located on Interstate 95 on 2,685 acres. It graces the Cherry Hill Peninsula along the scenic Potomac River. It has 4,000 homes planned, half of them single-family detached homes.  It also contains 4.2 million square feet of planned non-residential uses including commercial, office, industrial, retail, R&D and flex.  It is managed by the Cardinal Management Group of Springfield, VA

In Prince William County, Southbridge is located in the Cherry Hill Peninsula.

Long-term developments include:

- Commuter train station (opening 2006)

- An 18-hole golf course bordering the Potomac River (opening 2004)

- Three community centers with recreation facilities including pools and tennis courts

- Elementary and middle schools within the community

- Private high school (proposed opening in 2006)

- Planned equestrian

- Minor league baseball stadium

- Indoor hockey rink (planned)

It is located near military installations such as Quantico Marine Base, Ft. Belvoir Army Base and the Pentagon.
